Wikis

In the library setting, I'm especially fond of the subject guide in wiki format. In my personal life, I can see how a wiki would be a great way for my family to plan our Thanksgiving meal. Instead of multiple emails per day, we could all coordinate who's bringing what in one spot. No back and forth emails clogging up the inbox... Perhaps next year?

Editing the project play sandbox wiki was fun and easy. I just added to the list of authors, but I can see that creating a new page/topic would also be easy.

Hi Mary,

Does your library use wikis for their subject guides? Is there a link you can share - or is it not for the public?

We've begun using wikis here at SCLS, too. I'll be sending out more information on it, soon. I also have one that I use for my book club. It's a great place to gather our titles - both to be read and those that we've already read.

Did you have a chance to visit the Project Play Sandbox wiki and contribute your thoughts?

Keep on playing!

We don't use wikis for subject guides... yet. I only have looked at other wikis such as those mentioned in this week's lesson.

Oops- I did contribute to the Project Play wiki- I added some authors I like. Just forgot to mention in in my post.
